I sent a letter to Santa Claus,
And told him I had been good this year,
I hope the letter gets to him,
Because Christmas will soon be here.
I’ve asked for some nice presents,
Maybe I’ll get them all,
There’ll be a lot stacked in his sleigh,
I hope that some don’t fall.
I hope the reindeers are feeling fit,
As they have a long ride ahead,
I must admit I don’t envy them,
I’d rather be tucked up in bed.
I hope that Rudolph’s nose is bright,
Because it will be difficult to see,
Without that light it will be tough,
They could end up in a tree!
I hope the reindeers like their carrots,
And Santa likes mince pies,
Mummy says a moment on the lips,
Is a lifetime on the thighs!
Perhaps Santa should be careful,
I don’t want to see him getting stuck,
Half way down the chimney,
Or upon the way back up.
I hope that Santa gets around,
And delivers to everyone,
He doesn’t have a lot of time,
To make sure it gets all done.
I wonder how he moves so fast,
Does his sleigh have many gears?
It must have some sort of rocket jet,
Or it would take him many years!
Or perhaps he somehow stops the clocks,
And we are all frozen in time,
So long as he starts them up again,
I really would not mind.
I hope he makes it to my house,
Because if he doesn’t I’ll be sad,
And then I would not be sure,
If he was late, or I’d been bad!
I’m sure there’ll be no problem,
There hasn’t been so far,
I know that he will make it round,
Because he really is a star.
